Sep 05:Teachers’ day was celebrated in the parish on 4-09-2011 to
thank and appreciate all the teachers of our parish. It was organised
by the ICYM unit of our parish. The day’s liturgy was done by the
teachers and the ICYM members. During the homily Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo
D’Souza thanked all the teachers for their selfless service in the
parish and in their respective schools.
After the mass a felicitation programme was arranged to honour the
teachers. For the programme teachers from the parish school, catechism
teachers, animators and retired teachers of our parish were present.
Rev. Andrew D’Souza gave his message on the day. He distributed mementos
to the teachers as a mark of appreciation. Mrs. Puspa, the retired
headmistress of our school shared her views with the gathering. Rev. Fr.
Sunil Pinto conducted a quiz for the teachers, in which Mrs. Clotty
D’Souza won the prize. Later ICYM members too conducted games for the
teachers. The programme was concluded with refreshments. Mr. Merwyn
Saldanha was the MC for the day and Ms. Anitha Mendonca proposed the
vote of thanks.
