There were ten ICYM members of our parish who participated in this programme.ICYM director Fr Anil D'Souza in his keynote address said that the youth needed to come out in a radical way. "Today they have opportunities of many kinds. They must utilize them and form a very strong community," he advised. jeppu Seminary rector Fr Joseph Martis inaugurated the programmed and exhorted the youth to take over higher levels of leadership in the society, become stronger and more creative so as to be able to guide others.
Rocky Noronha Neerude who was the resource person, addressing the gathering, said, "A leader's duty is to lift a person's vision to greater heights and to build his personality beyond its normal limitations. The greatest quality of a leader is integrety, i.e., character, honesty and truthful behaviour. One must live by what he professes to believe and one should act on what he said. The journey of leadership begins when you give your permission to yourself to be a leader. The destination is not as important as the journey itself. In general, a leader motivates his followers but in particular the first part of a leader is to set the vision. He/she must see very clearly in his mind what he wants to do. When actualy he achieves his vision through his goal and objectives, he completes his task as a leader. The final test of leadership is the achievement of goals". Diocese's lady animator Sr Mishal BS, ICYM president Vincent Rodrigues and secretary Lawrence were present on the dais.
Mishaul Fernandes compered the programme. Resource person Rock Nicholas Noronha delivered a talk on “Leadership and Motivation for the Youth “
About 250 members took part in the training programme.
