Nov 14:“Unless
you become like children you cannot enter the
kingdom of God”. The Children’s day was celebrated on 13th in our parish
to mark the birthday of Nehru, which is celebrated as the ‘Children’s
Day’ in India. The ICYM unit of our parish had organised this half day
of wonderful event. The children of the parish assembled in the parish
hall soon after their mass. They were divided into groups for the
participation and for the competition. Rev.Fr.Sunil Pinto conducted a
entertaining ice breaking song in Konkani. Children belonging to all age
groups were pooled into four different groups from which group had to
send members for various events. The ICYM member Ms. Jayonna D’Souza
hosted the activities and other members actively in encouraged children
to participate. The children put up a very interesting skit on political
campaigns, which was very creative and enjoyed by everyone. Even ICYM
members too put up a similar show to entertain the children.
Rev. Fr. Andrew D’souza and Rev.Sunil Pinto spoke on
the occasion and thanked the ICYM members for organising the event.
They also distributed prizes to the winners. Ms.Anita Mendonca propsed
the vote of thanks at the end. The programme came to an end with lunch.
All in all it was a memorable day for the children. Hats off to ICYM
members for organising such a wonderful event today.
