July 1:The Silver Jubilee year of Small
Christian Community establishment was inaugurated at our parish today. The
Small Christian Community meetings began in the year of 1987 in the
Mangalore Diocese. In the coming years this spread to all the parishes.
At the diocesan level 'The Small Christian Community' Silver Jubilee Year
(1987-2012) was inaugurated on Tuesday May 15 at the Bishop’s House
during the combined meeting of senate and Diocesan Pastoral Parishad.
In
our parish the inauguration ceremony was held during the 8:00am mass.
As a symbolic inauguration Rev. Fr. Andrew D’Souza along with Mr. Dolphi
Miranda, Mrs. Lucy D’Souza and the Gurkars of six wards lit the lamp. In
the forth coming days this will be celebrated at every ward level.
