Mother Mary’s birthday- Monthi Fest celebrated

Mother Mary’s birthday- Monthi Fest was celebrated in a very grand scale in Pakshikere Church on 8th Sept. 2015. At 8:00am there was procession of Mother Mary’s Statue from the Church to Pakshikere Town. After that at Vailankani Mai Grotto new Corns were blessed by the Parish Priest. The children and the people offered flowers to Mother Mary. Then the procession proceeded to the Church followed by the Holy Mass. The main celebrant was Rev. Fr. Oswald Monteiro, Direcor of CODP Mangalore. He preached a beautiful Homily on Mother Mary’s Virtues, on Environment Protection and the importance of the girl child in the family.

After the Mass Laddu, Holige and Paisam was given to all the people. At the end all the people holding a Sugar Cane went home and celebrated the Family feast by eating the first Corn with the Vegetarian Meal.
