Aug 15:Vovio Verse is the important part of Mangaloren Catholic’s tradition and culture. Mostly sung during the roce and other celebrations, they bring out the true meaning of celebration. But this tradition is slowly disappearing replaced by recorded Vovyios and lack of interest to learn among the younger generation. Thus a half day of training session was organised in the parish to revive this tradition and bring up its importance. Mr. Pandu Ranga Nayak and Mr. James D’souza were the chief guest of the day. Rev. Fr. Andrew D’Souza and Rev. Fr. Sunil Pinto were present on the dais. There were people from other parishes too who joined the session. The Women’s Association of our parish had organised the programme. This programme has certainly helped in meeting its objectives.
